NIC District Computer Centre
 

NIC Computer Centre was established in 1988 and since then it is working actively in tandem with District Administration for computerization of various schemes/projects. This centre cater to the needs of the offices of Commissioner, Jalandhar Division, Deputy Commissioner, District & Session Judge, Addl. Deputy Commissioner(Development), Food Corporation of India, Passport Office and Registrar of Companies to name a few.

  1. Deputy Commissioner’s Office:-

    A no. of projects have been initiated for Deputy Commissioner’s office. Main projects are payroll and personnel information system, Personnel Information Management System for Patwaries, GPF monitoring system, Monthly revenue statements etc.

    • Payroll Package for Staff of DC’s Office, SDM-I, SDM-II, Tehsildar-I and Tehsildar-II, Settlement Officer Consolidation of Holding, Director Consolidation of Holdings, Special Land Acquisition Collector, ADC(Dev.) Jalandhar is in regular use. Branch wise monthly reports such as Payroll Ledger, GPF statement, GIS statement, House Rent recovery statement and Payslips of all employees are being generated.
    • Personal Information Management System for Patwaries (PIMS) was implemented in 1992. Personal data of all Kanungos and Patwaries of the district has been fed into computer and updated regularly by the dealing officials. This software is used to generate seniority list of Kanungoos/Patwaries, their stay in one station and annual confidential report proformas.
    • GPF account maintenance for Ministerial Staff, Revenue Staff and Class-IV staff of DC’s Office Data entry for Ministerial, Revenue and Class-IV employees is in progress. Individual Statement, Broad Statement, Annual Statement and Monthly Statement were generated and handed over to employees.
    • Monthly Revenue Statements – CRO wise monthly statements are generated for monthly revenue meetings.

  2. Computerisation of Sub Registrar Offices in the District

    NIC Punjab State Unite had developed PRISM (Property Registration Information System Module), an unique software with the objective of bringing transparency in manual Document Registration System. Computers, Cameras, Laser Printers and CD Writers were installed in all five Tehsils of the district. Segment wise rates of different areas falling under respective tehsils were fed in master tables and officials were trained to use the software. The project was formally started in the May, 2000 simultaneously in all Tehsils. All types of documents namely Sale Dead, Mortgage, Will, Gift, Special Power of Attorney and General Power of Attorney etc. are being registered using this software.

  3. Computerization in other Offices.

    1. District Treasury Office, Jalandhar:

      Computerisation in Treasury office has started. Token section has started accepting bills using Computers and soon entire life cycle of a bill will be computerized.

    2. District Social Security’s Pension Schemes:

      Blockwise data entry of old age pensioners is in progress apart from updation of 4 different schemes namely Old Age Pensioners, Financial Assistance to Widows, Financial Assistance to Disable Persons and Financial Assistance to Destitute Children (plan & non-plan). Monthly branch wise reports are generated regularly. Whereas checklist are being generated as and when required to verify the record at block-level/village-wise.

    3. Below Poverty Line Survey:

      Data Entry of Below Poverty Line Survey for all 10 blocks is completed in first phase. Total more than 40000 families’ data so far entered. Check lists for all ten blocks have been printed and handed over to Block Development and Panchyat Offices for verification.

    4. Integrated Rural Development Programme of DRDA:

      This Software is successfully running from 1993-94 and beneficiary details were entered upto 2001-02. Ten nos. of different types of reports, are generated beside day to day requirement of user department for the purpose see the progress/public query regarding loan and subsidy granted by this department. Data entry for current year is going on.

    5. Computerisation of District and Sessions Courts, Jalandhar:

      Computerisation of District and Sessions Courts has started and training was imparted to the staff of District and Sessions Courts. Packages such as District Courts Information System (DCIS), Personal Management Information System and Payroll, and JUDIS have been implemented successfully.

    6. Cooperative Societies Management System:

      Data for the year 2001-02 is being entered by concerned department for Jalandhar Annuals reports and RBI Tables’ hardcopy along with data in media is being handed over to the department officials for further processing at their headquarter, Chandigarh.

    7. Monthly Statement of District Industries Centre, Revenue branch, Dy ESA:

      Monthly Statements of ADC (D), Literacy Mission Dy.E.S.A, N.S.S.O, and H.F.W etc. are regularly generated. Industrial data of District Industries Centre Jalandhar is regularly transmitted to their Headquarters.

    8. Daily Traffic Checking Report to State Transport Commissioner Punjab, Chandiarh:

      Data for daily traffic checking by District Transport Officer is being entered by officials of DTO, Jalandhar. Hardcopy of daily report generated regularly and the same is transmitted to State Transport Commissioner Punjab Chandigarh through Email.

    9. Village Directory Updation:

      Updation of Village Directory is completed for the year 2000-2001 by officials of Deputy Economic and Statistical Advisor. After Checking by concerned staff Hardcopy of the same is handed over to Dy. E.S.A. . Data was also converted in MS Access format as directed by CM’s Office. The converted data was aslo transmitted to Chandigarh through Email.

    10. Training:

      Training is regularly conducted on Basic Fundamentals of Computer, Text Processing, data entry and use of different Package implemented at District Centre. Till now more than 200 employees of different departments have been trained.
